The New York Mets the last two years have come up short in making the playoffs, and the latest addition might help them make it next year. This week the Mets signed the best closing pitcher Francisco Rodriquez, who had the record for most saves in a season, with 62 saves and a 2.24 ERA. The Mets' bullpen has been absolutely terrible the past two years and is the reason for the Mets not to make the playoffs. Every team who faced the Mets wanted to get right to their bullpen because of the all the runs that they as a whole gave up. The only pitcher who came from the bullpen and did their job was Billy Wagner, but he's out for the all of next season with ligament replacement surgery in his elbow.
This will be the type of move, I believe, that will help the Mets make the playoffs next year, after two disappointing seasons. The only thing that I think the Mets should do, is either trade for a legitimate 8th inning guy or even sign another closer and make him pitch the 8th innings. Even if the bullpen is just a little better they should make the playoffs because the last two years they have had late leads in the division before losing them due to their awful bullpen. Also, the Mets are moving into a new stadium, which I think will motivate them. But at the same time will have better home field advantage because all the games will be sold out the whole season.
How do you think the addition of K-Rod will help? And how do you think the Mets will do next year?

This was the greatest decision the Mets have ever made. Now they have one of the best starting picthers and probably the best closer in the MLB. I see the Mets winning the division and most likely going the World Series.
