Yesterday and today were Divisional round. Yesterday the Baltimore Ravens beat the Tennessee Titans and the Arizona Cardinals beat the Carolina Panthers. The Ravens lost to the Titans earlier in the year 10-13, but they got revenge and won 13-10. Also, the Panthers beat the Cardinals 27-23, then in the playoffs the Cardinals got revenge and won 33-13. The Ravens had just come off a win over the Dolphins and had a lot of momentum going into the game, which helped pull of the number one seeded Titans. Then the Cardinals went into Carolina, where the Panthers haven't been beaten at home, and took over the game. I was more shocked that the Panthers got beat because they were the number two seed and were one of the most dynamic teams. The Titans on the other hand were getting to look average as the season went on and looked as if they could be beat.
Today, the Eagles beat the Giants and the Steelers beat the Chargers. The Eagles and Giants split their series during the season, but both teams won the games on their opponents field. The Steelers beat the Chargers again at home, by a land slide. The Chargers were without L.T, which doesn't help because he is one of the best players in the league even though he's having a down year. I hope that next week the Ravens will beat the Steelers even though the Steelers won both meetings during the season, and that the Cardinals beat the Eagles.
Who do you want to win in the Conference Championships next weekend? Then who do you want to win the Super Bowl out of the teams that remain?

BCS National Championship Game
Thursday night is the biggest game of the season between Oklahoma Sooners and the Florida Gators. The game is being played at Dolphins Stadium, where the Miami Dolphins play, and last weekend their season ended due to their loss to the Baltimore Ravens. But back to the game, the number one rated team in the nation, the Sooners, are not even favored in the game. The Sooners have been getting criticism because they played for the Big 12 Championship, instead of the Texas Longhorns, who had the same record. The Longhorns, also, beat the Sooners earlier in the season and the Longhorn players and coaches have been frustrated with the decision.
I believe that the Sooners will play to show that they belong, but if they get slaughtered then the Longhorns will be outraged by the BCS system. I am honestly really not that interested in the game because I don't like either team, and the game is going to be on until at least midnight. Maybe if the game is on Friday morning, then maybe I will watch it. Since I'm not a fan of either team, the game really doesn't mean much to me, but I still think the USC Trojans were the best team in the nation.
Who do you think will win the game Thursday night? Then who would you say is the best team in the nation?

Carmelo Anthony
The Denver Nuggets small forward has a broken bone in his hand and will miss 3 weeks. This has to be devastating for a team that is on the rise and trying to stay in the playoff hunt. After acquiring Chauncey Billups the Nuggets have been on fire and look to be a hot team that no one wants to face in the playoffs. This will definitely hurting the team in the long run because the team won't be able to play full strength. The team will learn to play without Anthony and that is the worst thing for a team that is just getting to play as a team.
How do you think the Nuggets will do without Carmelo Anthony? Will it affect them in their run to the NBA title?

AFC East
The Dolphins, Jets, and Patriots all have nine wins and five loses. Each are competing not only for their division, but also a Wild Card spot. The Pats have probably the easiest path because they are a hot team and they don't have to face a big time rival to end the season. The Jets and Fins game might end up telling who makes the playoffs or who doesn't. I believe though that the Jets and/or Dolphins will make the playoffs because each are facing weak opponents and their game against each other won't really matter in the end. The Patriots I don't think will make the playoffs because they will be on cruise control and won't be motivated to play hard. Therefore, the Jets or Dolphins will win the division and go on to the playoffs. To think that the Dolphins were 1 and 15 last year to this is amazing, but you got to thank the league for giving them such a weak schedule.
Who do you think will win the division? And who will win in week 17, Fins or Jets?

Joe Sakic
The captain of the Colorado Avalanche got injured this week. He is already out because of back problems, but this is another one of those injuries that is weird, but funny. Sakic lives in Colorado where it snows during the winter, and while using his snow blower he broke three fingers. He will be out another three months because he underwent surgery to fix his fingers and tendon damage. He still currently has a herniated disc in his back, which was expected to leave him out until mid-January. The past two years he has been plagued by injuries, and was even thinking about retiring last year because of surgery to fix a hernia. This is just another odd injury that took place while an athlete was at home, not even at their job. There have been a bunch of odd injuries this past year throughout all the sports, and for a week of so each athlete has been a laughing stock.
What comes next for Sakic, will he retire at the end of this year or come back for his 21st season? Then also, what will be the next odd injury that happens to one of these big time athletes?

New York Mets

The New York Mets the last two years have come up short in making the playoffs, and the latest addition might help them make it next year. This week the Mets signed the best closing pitcher Francisco Rodriquez, who had the record for most saves in a season, with 62 saves and a 2.24 ERA. The Mets' bullpen has been absolutely terrible the past two years and is the reason for the Mets not to make the playoffs. Every team who faced the Mets wanted to get right to their bullpen because of the all the runs that they as a whole gave up. The only pitcher who came from the bullpen and did their job was Billy Wagner, but he's out for the all of next season with ligament replacement surgery in his elbow.
This will be the type of move, I believe, that will help the Mets make the playoffs next year, after two disappointing seasons. The only thing that I think the Mets should do, is either trade for a legitimate 8th inning guy or even sign another closer and make him pitch the 8th innings. Even if the bullpen is just a little better they should make the playoffs because the last two years they have had late leads in the division before losing them due to their awful bullpen. Also, the Mets are moving into a new stadium, which I think will motivate them. But at the same time will have better home field advantage because all the games will be sold out the whole season.
How do you think the addition of K-Rod will help? And how do you think the Mets will do next year?

Derrick Rose

After being a one and done player in College Basketball out of the University of Memphis, Rose went one to be the top pick in this year's draft. This week he suffered an odd injury while at home. While laying in his own bed, he sliced his arm open and needed ten stitches. This all happened while he was laying in his bed cutting up an apple, then he got up to get something else and came back. He ended up laying back down on his bed and forgot the knife was there, and it cut him. The kids only 20 years old, I think something like this is funny and such a minor mistake, but still the news goes wild over something so minor. I don't think this will effect his play the next couple of weeks while he plays with stitches in his arm.
Do you think this cut will make a difference in the way he plays? Also, do you think something like this will happen again?
